Coroner IDs two women found dead on east side

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was investigating the deaths of two people on the city's southeast side Thursday.

Police were called to the 500 block of Trowbridge Street around 1:30 p.m. Two women were found dead inside the home. A third victim, a male, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said it was a family member of the male victim who came to check on him that discovered the bodies in the house.

What's not clear is how the two women died. Police said there are no obvious signs on the home, leaving open the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning. A generator was found in the home, although police said it wasn't running when they arrived.

Police said the relationship between the victims was unknown.

On Friday, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the women as Kathleen Pemberton, 53, and Edith Siegman, 39. A determination of manner and cause of death were pending  toxicology results.
