INDIANAPOLIS -- Police are conducting a death investigation after human remains were found on the city's east side Monday night.
The Marion County Coroner's office says the body is that of a man, now identified as John Doe.
According to IMPD, the remains were found near East 34th Street and Shadeland Avenue in the 6400 block of Olivia Lane.
Police say someone fishing near Olivia Lane called police to report they found what appeared to be human remains around 6 p.m.
Police have not released information about how long they believe the body has been at that location, where exactly the body was found, or if they suspect foul play.
