INDIANAPOLIS -- An east-side shooting left one man dead Friday afternoon.
Police were called to the 700 block of North Grant Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Friday for a report of a person shot.
They arrived to find 37-year-old Dejuan Williams suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives believe Williams likely knew the shooter.
Officers were dispatched to a second shooting just after 8 p.m. on the 3200 block of Gladstone Avenue.
They arrived to find 18-year-old Tyren Whitley suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
Whitley was taken to Eskenazi Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
