INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis police say an armed robbery at a northeast side home was not a random incident.
The robbery occurred on Wednesday afternoon on the 4300 block of Wexford Road near 71st Street and Allisonville Road.
Police arrived to find a 33-year-old man who said he'd been robbed and pistol whipped. He'd also suffered a graze wound from a bullet.
The victim told police a man knocked on his door, and he recognized the person, so he answered. Then five men reportedly barged in, tying him up and throwing him in the basement.
The men left with the victim's phone and money.
Police said the victim's young son was also home at the time of the robbery.
