IMPD officer helps family stranded in Indy get back home to Ohio

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officer went above and beyond to help an Ohio family who was stranded at an Indianapolis hotel on Saturday.

IMPD Sergeant Morgan met the family of four at a hotel on Tibbs Avenue where they told him they were stranded.

Sgt. Morgan took it upon himself to set up a GoFundMe page and collect donations for the family to get enough to buy them Greyhound bus tickets home. In just two hours, he was able to raise $290, enough to buy the tickets and treat the family out to a nice meal before they left.

Sgt. Morgan and Officer Maurice Norris then transported the family to the bus station so they could catch their ride home.
