IMPD officer injured following chase on Indy's southeast side

INDIANAPOLIS – An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officer was injured following a chase on the city’s southeast side Wednesday night.

Police said the officer attempted to pull over a suspected stolen vehicle when the driver took off and began a brief chase near St. Paul and East Prospect streets.

Following the chase, the police car hit a parked vehicle and the suspect continued a few blocks before hitting a house.

The suspect fled the vehicle and police are still searching for them.

IMPD said the officer was not seriously injured but the police car, suspect vehicle, home and the car the officer hit were damaged.
