INDIANAPOLIS — An officer and a person inside a home were both injured when an IMPD cruiser slammed into a home on Rockville Road early Saturday morning.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department crash report states that the officer was driving westbound on Rockville Road around 3 a.m. when another vehicle passed too closely in an "S" curve. The officer attempted to move away from the oncoming vehicle and lost control of the cruiser, leaving the road way and crashing into a home in the 4100 block of Rockville Road.

The officer complained of shoulder pain and was taken to the hospital where they were treated and released, according to IMPD.

A person inside the home also complained of pain to his shoulder and was taken to the hospital. His condition is not known at this time.

The extent of damage is not known at this time.

The crash remains under investigation and IMPD says all accidents involving city vehicles receive internal reviews.
