INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis police officer went above and beyond after responding to a call last week.
On Thursday, Officer Takara Mayo responded to a disturbance in the 4800 block of East Washington Street.
As she was leaving, a man told her that he recently moved to Indianapolis with his wife and 6-month-old daughter from Memphis. He said he did not have much luck finding employment and was unable to provide clothes for his daughter.
Two days later, Officer Mayo returned to his home with two large gift bags full of clothes for the daughter.
