INDIANAPOLIS -- It seems that we have a real life Secret Santa among us in the Circle City.
Thanks to an anonymous $20,000 donation to the Indy Public Safety Foundation, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department presented people with gift cards Monday for Christmas.
Forty officers from different districts around the city took part by passing out five gift cards each to families they feel are in the most need.
The gift cards they handed out are $100 VISA cards -- meaning they can be used anywhere VISA is accepted.
The donor says they hope this act will inspire other businesses to work with the police department and help build relationships and improve the quality of life in the community.
