INDIANAPOLIS -- A victim was in serious condition Tuesday night after being shot in the back on the east side.

The shooting happened around 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of East 30^th Street and German Church Road.

IMPD said it appeared a single victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the back.

No other information was immediately available.

The shooting follows the deadliest weekend of the year in Indianapolis. Fifteen people were shot, and six killed, between Friday and Monday.
