INDIANAPOLIS -- This summer you’ll want to bring your biggest appetite to the annual Indiana State Fair, as this year’s theme is, the Wonderful World of Food.
If you thought the state fair already had enough food, this year’s event will most likely be mind blowing.
From Aug 4 – 20 a new food will be highlighted each day such as funnel cakes, pork burgers, corn dogs, turkey legs and other foods. You can see the full list of featured items and their dates at the bottom of this story.
Special cuisine will be available along with traditional fair food sold at one of the more than 90 stands. The event will also offer cooking demonstrations and eating contests.
Fair organizers also hope the food theme will help attendees understand the role Indiana plays in the country’s agriculture development.
“Hoosiers have deep connections to food, and there is no better place to showcase how much fun we can have with food than the Great Indiana State Fair” said Cindy Hoye, Executive Director, Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center. “We want to shine the spotlight on all our state has to offer, and we look forward to the celebration of our ‘Wonderful World of Food’ at this year’s Fair.”
Fair organizers plan to release information on new attractions and food-themed exhibits soon.
