MADISON COUNTY, Ind. -- A female inmate was found dead at the Madison County Jail Wednesday morning.
According to Indiana State Police, Jail staff found Loretta Neese, 56, unresponsive in her cell around 6:40 a.m.
Neese was rushed to St. Vincent Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
State police say Neese had been arrested by the Elwood Police Department for operating a vehicle with a suspended license, possession of a legend drug (a prescription drug) and the operator having never been licensed. She was booked into the jail Tuesday Morning.
Neese's cause of death is pending an autopsy and toxicology report.
Her death remains under investigation by Indiana State Police.
