INDIANAPOLIS — Officials at Indianapolis Animal Care Services are asking the public to open their hearts and "Give Love" this February to the shelter and animals currently looking for new homes.
IACS announced Thursday it will be waiving adoption fees for the month of February. Instead, the shelter is asking for donations to benefit the Friends of Indianapolis Animal Care Services Foundation.
The Friends Foundation assists the shelter in a variety of ways including paying for heartworm treatments, building outdoor dog runs, paying for dogs to spend time at local training facilities, helping cover medical costs as part of the Indy C.A.R.E.S. program and more.
Adoptions are currently by appointment only. Anyone interested can search for animals available for adoption and fill out an adoption application online.
