Indianapolis firefighters help kids in need

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- Some special kids got to spend some special time Saturday with Indianapolis firefighters.

It was all part of the Indianapolis Fire Department's annual clothe a child program.

Children get the clothes they need to stay warm in the winter.

The day started off early with a breakfast prepared firehouse-style by firefighters.

The kids were then paired with firefighters and got on a bus headed to Castleton Square Mall.

They spent the day shopping before heading back to the fire station for cookies and milk with Santa.

Firefighters are asking for your help so they can keep this tradition of helping kids at Christmas going.

Each Christmas, firefighters volunteer to 'stand the bell' and collect donations both at Circle Center and Castleton Square Malls.

If you see them, they ask that you consider making a donation.
