An Indianapolis mother is accused of using multiple apartments as part of a criminal enterprise.
Vanessa Porter was arrested Friday by Indianapolis Housing Police and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Authorities say Porter was arrested because she was able to get rent assistance on four properties at the same time, something not legal in 2014.
“I don’t know anything about welfare fraud or theft,” Porter said last year when her apartment was being raided by housing police and IMPD.
At one point in 2014, Porter was accused of receiving taxpayer supported rent assistance to live at 16 Park -- and three other apartments at Carriage House East.
Call 6 Investigates has learned that Porter allegedly used the apartments to allow people to run from illegal activities or hide from police.

Authorites also say many of the electronics seized and hauled away from her apartment in 2014 had been reported stolen by Porter.
She is facing a number of criminal charges. The government wants her to repay more than $17,000.
There’s also a call for agencies to share more information to prevent criminals from fleecing the system.
