INDIANAPOLIS -- A gesture of kindness is gaining momentum.

Angel Hicks, owner of 28 Boutique on the city's north side, started collecting bottled water and cleaning products last week to take to the people of Flint, Michigan.

Flint's water became contaminated with lead when the city switched from the Detroit municipal system and began drawing from the flint river in April 2014 to save the financially struggling city some money.

The water was not properly treated to keep lead from pipes from leaching into the supply.

Hicks was planning on using her SUV to deliver the donations, but word spread quickly about her plans and now she's in need of a semi.

"It has just been nonstop, every 10 minutes, since Wednesday people have been coming, so I just thank God," said Hicks.
