INDIANAPOLIS – Several people were rescued from a ride at the Indianapolis Zoo Monday afternoon.
Skyline, a slow-moving, gondola-style ride that offers high views of the zoo, was shut down after two of the ride’s cars malfunctioned and trapped five passengers - three adults and two children.
Indianapolis firefighters and zoo officials are assessing how to get the passengers down to safety.
This isn’t the first time Skyline has malfunctioned. Two years ago in 2015, the ride stopped working several times while guests where onboard.
The ride can climb up to 50 feet into the air, according to Indianapolis Zoo officials.
