INDINANAPOLIS -- It's the season for giving and Hoosiers rolled up their sleeves on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium for the Bleed Blue Blood Drive.

Along with donating blood, people could make their way onto the Colts field, see the locker rooms and watch holiday movies on the big screen.

Donor Tom Koesters gave his reason why he gave blood: "My son had two surgeries already in his life, so I know there's other people who donated for him. For me it's something beneficial for somebody else. I have O-Negative blood, so I’m the universal donor; they always want me to come in and donate anyhow.

Those who donated also received a limited edition football signed by Frank Gore.

Lieutenant Governor of Indiana Suzanne Crouch also stopped by to help spread awareness about the importance of giving blood.

This was the 18th year of the event.
