INDIANAPOLIS -- Three Indianapolis firefighters were slightly injured following a collision on the city's north side between a dump truck and a fire engine.

The accident happened around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at W. 43rd St. and N. Capitol Ave.

The dump truck was headed south on Capitol. The fire engine was headed west on 43rd with its lights and sirens on.

The driver of the dump truck told investigators he heard the fire engine's sirens but wasn't sure where it was coming from.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department say the dump truck was stolen, the driver had a suspended license and an outstanding warrant for driving while suspended.

The three firefighters were taken to IU Methodist to be checked out.
