INDIANAPOLIS -- Thousands of people made their way to Military Park in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday to raise money for the fight against breast cancer.
Cancer survivors and their friends and families filled the park for the 27th Annual Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure event.

The money those racers raise goes to help with screenings, education, research and survivor support.
For one survivor who came out Saturday, the fight was personal.
“I know everything is possible with a great attitude and just keeping the faith that I have,” Dawn Hughes said. “All those who have been diagnosed, we can get through this!”
The Susan G. Komen Foundation says this year it hopes to raise just over $1.1 million from the race.
