INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Animal Care Services is offering free cat and kitten adoptions through Sunday.

After taking in 94 cats over a two day period this week, IACS is again over-capacity with more than 500 animals in need of homes.

IACS says 46 cats were adopted on Thursday, but 63 more animals were taken in.

To try and combat the issue and help some of those cats find their "furever" homes, the shelter is offering free cat adoptions through Sunday.

Each adoption includes a microchip, vaccines, spay/neuter services and FIV/feline leukemia testing.

IACS requests that you arrive at least one hour prior to closing if you would like to adopt.

Hours of operation for Indianapolis Animal Care Services are:

  • Monday: 10am-8pm
  • Tuesday: 10am-6pm
  • Wednesday: CLOSED
  • Thursday: 10am-7pm
  • Friday: 10am-6pm
  • Saturday:10am-6pm
  • Sunday: 10am-6pm
  • The shelter is closed on all City holidays.
