Big buck crashes through window of business, tosses police officer in the air

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- An 8-point buck was trapped inside a business on Indianapolis' northeast side after it crashed through the front window Friday morning.

Police got to Key Computers in the 9000 block of E. 30th Street and found a 200-250 pound buck inside that was going crazy trying to get out.

"I'm in my office and I hear this really loud crash and I come running out to see what the thing was... and here is this big old deer out in my vestibule," said Bob Collins, owner of Key Computers.

Workers hid while the deer went on a rampage, damaging computer equipment.

"I thought well maybe he'll stay in here and find his way back out but I'm not going to tango with him so we went and barricaded ourselves into an office and called the police," said Collins.

The deer ran down the hallway, hit a police officer and threw him over its back. No word on the officer's condition.

"You can tell when he's coming. I mean, the clops and stuff, but he was moving pretty fast and he put his head down a lot," said Collins.

Animal control confronted the buck and tried tranquilizing it, but it finally ran out into the woods leaving quite a mess behind.
