Boy, 14, critically injured in car-vs-bike crash

A 14-year-old boy was rushed to Riley Hospital for Children in critical condition on Sunday following a car-versus-bike collision on the near-northwest side.

The collision happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Sugar Grove Avenue, where the boy was riding his bike.

The driver of the vehicle stayed and scene and was cooperating with police. As of Sunday afternoon, officers said the collision appeared to be accidental.

At last report, the boy remained in critical condition at the hospital.
