Broad Ripple Zombie Walk returns Oct. 21

INDIANAPOLIS, In. (WRTV) - Indiana’s largest flash mob returns Oct. 21 as the Broad Ripple Zombie Walk overtakes village streets. The fake blood will flow as the undead swarm Broad Ripple for a series of events benefitting Gleaners Food Bank.

Organizers said that due to popular demand, they will once again have a zombie-themed carnival set up at the event. Children of all ages are invited to participate in gruesome, zombie themed carnival games for a chance to earn prizes.

In 2016, The Broad Ripple Zombie Walk had more than 800 zombies and collected 3,500 pounds of canned food. Organizers have raised the goal to 5,000 pounds this year.

Beginning at 4 p.m., there will be a canned food collection and zombie gathering in the lot behind The Vogue on Carrollton Avenue, followed by the organized zombie walk through Broad Ripple at 7 p.m., then a “zombie prom” event at the Vogue for those 21 and older.

“Zombies” can take a photo in the zombie-themed photo booth, enjoy drink specials, and at 11 p.m. organizers will crown the Zombie King and Queen.

Participants are asked to bring canned food for donation. For more information, click here.
