INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis City-County Council voted to remove Jeff Miller from the three committees he currently serves on after he was charged with child molestation involving a 10-year-old girl.
Miller sent a note to his constituents last week saying he had no intentions of stepping down from his position on the council. He said the council allows any councilor to attend meetings and share their support or disapproval regardless of which committee they serve on, and he would still continue to attend meetings that impact the quality of life of Indy neighborhoods.

In a special meeting that was held Monday afternoon, the City-County Council voted to remove Miller from his three current committees; Public Works, Metropolitan and Economic Development and Community Affairs and Education.

Miller was charged on November 17 with three counts of child molestation. According to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case, the investigation began after a 10-year-old girl came forward claiming that Miller had massaged her and made her uncomfortable on more than one occasion.

Miller appeared in court Monday afternoon where he pled not guilty to those charges. His pre-trial hearing is set for March 16, 2018.
