INDIANAPOLIS -- An elderly couple were killed in a murder-suicide on Indianapolis' east side late Saturday evening.
Officers were called to the 5600 block of E. 16th Street just before 10 p.m. When they arrived they found an elderly woman had been shot. She was taken to Eskenazi Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity has not been released.
Investigators later learned that a man had also been shot inside the residence. That man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital, where he died.
According to police, based on information found in the initial investigation, it is believed that one of the individuals may have shot the other.
Police have not released any more specific details on the shooting, which remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
