Donuts are one of my favorite sweet treats!
There are so many shops with delicious donuts around Indiana, you won’t have any trouble finding a place you love, but I wanted to take a moment to shout-out a few popular donut shops I recently stopped in – that will keep me coming back for more!
Quack Daddy Donuts (106 W State Street, Pendleton)
Carmel sea salt, maple peanuts, fruity pebbles, these are combinations that roll off the tongue at a Quack Daddy Donuts in Pendleton Indiana.
The process: you create your perfect combination and it gets glazed and dipped on a freshly made vanilla cake donut. Of all the wacky varieties Quack Daddy serves, maple bacon is the granddaddy of them all! It was my personal favorite!
Sunrise Bakery (101 West Broadway Street, Fortville)
Inside Sunrise Bakery in Fortville, you can indulge in hand-made donuts and pastries, and at the same time, feast your eyes on something else that’s really sweet – a live vintage Lionel model train layout!
It’s full steam ahead in the kitchen, where workers are busy making an assortment of flavors like red velvet, pistachio, and blueberry donuts, sure to delight your taste buds.
I was entranced by the display of dazzling donuts of all shapes, sizes and colors, with toppings that include chocolate, vanilla, and caramel icing, sprinkles, nuts or opt for a good old fashioned plain donut.
Jacks Donuts (Various locations around Central Indiana)
When you’re in the mood for donuts, there’s a good chance Jack’s is nearby in Central Indiana.
Jack’s Donut shops continue to pop-up in Hoosier communities everywhere and whether you’re craving yeast or cake donuts, plain or chocolate, Jack’s has a wide variety to choose from.
From Tiger tails and Cinnamon buns to Bavarian Cream filled and Jelly filled, it’s difficult to choose just one. I’m hooked on the strawberry jelly-filled donuts with white icing, and the caramel iced cinnamon buns!
