Food on the Flye: Jiallo's Caribbean Restaurant

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- Whether you’re a longtime fan of African and Caribbean Cuisine, or you want to try it out for the first time, Jiallo’s is ready to help satisfy your taste buds.

Jiallo’s restaurant sits in the heart of the International Marketplace on the West Side of Indianapolis.

All the traditional favorites are on the menu.

They offer home cooked hearty portions, that I found to be packed with flavor.

Not only was the meal beyond satisfying, but the owner and chef, Mohammed Jiallo from Guinea, West Africa, was warm and welcoming to everyone, as he made an appearance in the dining room.

I sampled a variety of delicious dishes, including the deep-fried catfish, jerk chicken, rice and beans, and cabbage and carrots.

I washed it down with one of my favorite beverages, Hibiscus juice.

The restaurant itself has a large dining area, perfect for families or groups.

Jiallo’s is located at 5130 W. 38th Street in Indianapolis.
