INDIANAPOLIS – Homes on Indy’s south side will soon undergo renovations by the mother-daughter duo of HGTV’s “Good Bones.”

Also known as 2 Chicks and A Hammer, Karen and Mina will soon begin tackling a large corner home on South Meridian and Orange streets, and it will be converted into two condos.

"It's going to be a part of their TV show. It's going to be a turning point for their neighborhood. We're excited about that,” said Judith Essex of the Old Southside Neighborhood Association. “There are at least 12 houses under the renovation now. There has been a real change in the neighborhood."

While improvements to homes have been mostly received well by neighbors, some are worried about gentrification and an increase in property taxes.

“I’ve been living in my neighborhood and my home for 11 years and I love it. I would love to stay in my neighborhood,” said Crystal Bridgewater.

Episodes of the area’s renovations are expected to air sometime in 2018.
