17-year-old arrested in connection with homicide on north side

INDIANAPOLIS -- A 17-year-old was arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man on Indianapolis' north side last week. 

Officers were called to the 500 block of W. 28th Street on Sept. 29 around 7 p.m. after someone found an unresponsive man. 

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The Marion County Coroner identified the victim as 22-year-old James Butler. 

Police say Dewayne Harris, 17, was found and arrested in Jackson County. He is preliminarily charged with murder and robbery and will be charged as an adult.
