INDIANAPOLIS— Hundreds of people are flocking to Indy Parks pools this weekend to beat the heat.

At Garfield Park, a sign is posted on the door letting people know they are expected to reach capacity on Memorial Day.

Temperatures are expected to reach into the 90’s across Central Indiana.

Pools open Memorial Day weekend include Eagle Creek Beach, Ellenberger Park Pool, Garfield Park Pool, Indy Island Aquatic Center/Raymond Park, Krannert Park Indoor Pool, Perry Park Pool, and Sahm Park Pool.

Swimmers said now that the pools are open, it officially feels like summer.

“We’re here because it’s Memorial Day, to peep at the females, eat some of the concessions, and just chilling,” said Sean Silvers, age 16.

Seven-year old Harper Agee said he’s having a blast on the slides.

“I’ve been in the green tube a little and the yellow tube a lot,” said Harper. “It’s awesome.”
