INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's K-9 department is growing again.
The department introduced their newest member, K-9 Sonitrol, at a celebration Friday morning. Sonitrol was named after the company who donated money for his purchase.
Sonitrol is a 16-month-old Shephard-mix and will begin his official training on Monday with his partner Officer Scott Hartman.
Sonitrol will bring IMPD's K-9 department up to 24 teams.
Meet our newest #K9 “Sonitrol” who will be partnered with Officer Scott Hartman. A big thank you to our partners @SonitrolIndy for their generous $10k donation that allowed for the purchase of this new K9! Training starts Monday! #PoliceCommunityPartnership pic.twitter.com/RBA7byEpwh
