Indianapolis crews get winter-ready

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Department of Public Works officials finished this week what they call a “mock snow fight”.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, plow and salt truck drivers hit the city streets to prepare for the winter weather.

About 50 drivers from both day and night shifts went through routes, some with blades, to refamiliarize themselves with the winter-time drill.

The annual training process began in August; first, with a review of the previous winter, then workers workers begin planning for the upcoming winter snow and ice season.

DPW also activated the Indy Snow Force Vieweronline ahead of the winter season.
