Arrest made in fatal hit-and-run that killed man in motorized chair

INDIANAPOLIS – A man was arrested in connection to a hit-and-run accident that killed an elderly man in a motorized chair.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police arrested 57-year-old Jose Hernandez on suspicion of leaving the scene of the accident that happened in the 2500 block of West Morris Street on Nov.1. 

The victim, 72-year-old Roger Roska, was found face down in a pool of water along the side of the road by a group of people.

Police said they found Hernandez by determining the make and model of the suspect vehicle from scene evidence. 

The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will review the case and make a charging decision.
