INDIANAPOLIS -- Investigators are searching for the cause of a West Side Indianapolis apartment fire that left major damage and forced 30 people from their homes.

The two-alarm blaze broke out at 8pm Sunday at Island Club Apartments, off Dandy Trail near Crawfordsville Road.

Flames were shooting through the roof of one building as Wayne Township firefighters arrived.

Four other fire departments were called in to help battle the blaze.

30 people living in 20 units of the three story building had to evacuate and the Red Cross helped some find temporary shelter.

There were no injuries to residents or firefighters and damage to the building is estimated at $200,000.

In 2008, fire broke out in the same building at Island Club, causing about $400,000 in damage.
