INDIANAPOLIS -- A local non-profit is working to lighten the burden for Hoosier families by providing them help with one of the biggest expenses new parents face: diapers.

Becoming a parent is expensive, but for low-income families, something as simple as getting help paying for diapers can change their lives.

“The ultimate goal is to make sure that they feel empowered and also to make sure that we assist them with being self-sufficient,” said Tamara Ajimati, founder of Caring 4 a Cause Supportive Services.

Caring 4 a Cause Supportive Services gives parents 30 diapers every 30 days.

“Diapers and wipes is the main thing and if you don’t have that, it’s hard,” said Long-Payton. “It’s really hard because you don’t know what you’re going to do.”

“There is help out there, you just have to look for it."
