INDIANAPOLIS -- The City of Indianapolis may soon get the federal funding it needs for the Red Line.
Indianapolis is days away from getting a federal grant for $75 million for the Red Line mass transit system.
The Red Line will eventually connect Broad Ripple to downtown, Fountain Square, and south of the University of Indianapolis.
Construction was supposed to start in January.
Call 6 Investigates has learned the $75 million grant will be signed in about 10 days. Then the money will be formally allocated, and construction can begin.
The $75 million grant makes up the biggest part of the $96 million project.
