INDIANAPOLIS -- A student brought a loaded gun to an Indianapolis Public School last week.
RTV6 received an inquiry from a concerned parent at Positive Supports Academy, formerly Longfellow Alternative School.
On May 7, IPS spokeswoman Carrie Black said an IPS police officer found the loaded weapon in a student's backpack on a school bus.
"This unfortunate incident was isolated and no other students were around when the weapon was discovered," Black said. "Positive Supports Academy staff will continue to keep the safety of all students at the forefront of their educational experience.”
Black said they do not discuss student discipline, however, the concerned parent said the student has not been attending since the incident.
