INDIANAPOLIS — A large sinkhole that opened up on the side of the road in downtown Indianapolis on Wednesday morning has been covered.

A spokeswoman for Citizens Energy Group said the sinkhole was approximately 4-feet wide and 3-feet deep and opened in the parking lane of the 100 block of South Meridian Street in front of the Hard Rock Cafe.

Crews from Citizens Energy Group responded to investigate and determined the damage was not related to Citizens' sewer, water, natural gas or thermal systems.
