Man found dead in Indianapolis fire, homicide detectives investigating

INDIANAPOLIS -- Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found dead inside a home after a fire early Saturday morning. 

Firefighters were called to the home in the 9400 block of Barr Drive around 1 a.m. While putting out the fire, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers say firemen located a man inside the residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The man has been identified as Stephen Brockman, 73.

The Marion County Coroner's office says his cause of death is probable homicide.
