INDIANAPOLIS -- One Indianapolis man has made it his mission to run 30 races in his 30th year, while working to raise $30,000 for cleaner water throughout the world.

Joshua Lawrence, a real estate agent in Indianapolis, turned 30 years old on January 30th and wanted to make an impact during this cornerstone period of his life.

Choosing “Charity Water” as his platform, he’s vowed to run 30 races this year, while trying to raise $30,000 for this charity.

Lawrence has run 25 races—most recently, last weekend’s Monumental Marathon, and he’s raised $5,000.

"I chose Charity Water because 100 percent of donations go directly to the field," Lawrence said. "It's a big task, it's not going to happen overnight, but it's just those little things we can do every day to make a difference. What's 30 dollars? And 30 dollars provides clean water for one person for the rest of their life."

Lawrence said another reason he chose Charity Water is because it’s something that is 100 percent preventable.

He said he will definitely get his 30 races done in one year, but still needs about 800 people to donate $30 each, by January 30th, to reach the monetary part of his goal.
