INDIANAPOLIS -- A man is in serious condition he was shot multiple times at a gas station on Indianapolis' north side Saturday evening. 

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the Marathon gas station near the intersection of 30th Street and College Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. 

When police arrived they found the victim lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say the victim was at the gas station when he was approached by the suspect and an altercation broke out. Specific details about that altercation have not been released, but after a brief struggle, the suspect shot the victim multiple times and ran from the scene. 

The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital in serious condition. 

Police are still looking for the shooting suspect and have not released any description of the suspect at this time.
