MADISON COUNTY, Ind. -- Since the deadly school shooting one week ago Thursday in Parkland, Florida the number of threats against schools across the country has increased dramatically - and Indiana is no exception.
There have been more than two dozen threats investigated at schools in Indiana over the past week and police have made more than 20 arrests in connection with those threats.
The most recent arrest was in Madison County where deputies say a 19-year-old student made a comment to another student, saying he had access to guns and was going to "shoot up the school."
Deputies detained the student, Francisco Martinez- Hernandez, and say he admitted that he had made those statements. He's charged with felony intimidation.
Also on Wednesday, police made eight other arrests for threats toward schools in Howard, Bartholomew, Rush and Harrison counties.
Below is a list of investigated school threats in Indiana since the Feb. 14 school shooting in Florida:
February 15
- Muncie: A 19-year-old arrested for Snapchat threat involving a handgun, saying “Don’t go to school tomorrow”
- Carmel: Two teens were arrested Tuesday (February 19) in connection withSnapchat threats posted Thursday.
- Evansville: A 17-year-old boy arrested for writing a threat on the bathroom stall at Reitz High School.
February 16
- New Albany: A 16-year-old arrested for Snapchat threat, “I’ll get more than 17”
February 19
- New Albany: A 15-year-old Greater Clark County and New Albany Floyd Schools student arrested for posting “We will blow that b**** up”
- Scott County: A female student arrested for making threat to harm school on social media.
February 20
- Dugger: A 12-year-old girl arrested for making online threats towards students and staff at Dugger-Union Community School.
- Lowell: Teen in custody after “nonspecific threat” toward Lowell High School Tuesday morning.
- Anderson: A student was detained for a threat toward the school. Officials called the threat an "inappropriate attempt at humor."
- Columbus: A high school student was arrested and charged with intimidationfor threat against Columbus East High School.
February 21
- Rushville: A student was arrested after making a verbal threat toward Rush County High School.
- Corydon: Five people arrested for making a “credible threat” against Corydon Central High School the night before over Snapchat.
- Columbus: Non-student arrested for threat made online after fire alarm was pulled. That person was arrested.
- Kokomo: A 16-year-old student arrested for making anonline threat toward Kokomo High School.
- Madison County: A 19-year-old student at was arrested after he made a comment about having "guns available" and "shooting up the school."
February 23
- Madison County: 2 students at Highland Middle School were arrested in separate incidents
- Grant County: An eighth grade student at McCulloch Middle School in Marion was arrested at home after several students said they heard the boy making threats.
