Multiple fights at Arsenal Tech cause campus lockdown in Indianapolis

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS – Arsenal Technical High School was placed on lockdown Friday for several hours after multiple fights broke out amongst students.

The campus was locked down around 10:40 a.m. and about 25 minutes later, the status was changed to a limited lockdown - which informed administrators to keep students from leaving their classrooms.

The campus was upgraded to a total lockdown around 1:22 p.m., and an hour later, teachers were told to hold their students until more information was released.

Several students used social media to tell their friends about the incident.

IPS officials said the district was aware of multiple fights at Arsenal Tech over the last few days and they called for additional officers to respond.
