INDIANAPOLIS -- Several agencies responded to the federal courthouse in downtown Indianapolis Monday afternoon for a report of a "mysterious substance."

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Indianapolis Fire Department, Department of Homeland Security and Federal Law Enforcement officers were all called to the courthouse on East Ohio Street just after 4 p.m. after a mysterious smell and substance was found inside an envelope in the building.

Hazmat crews removed an envelope in a sealed bag from the building. It is unclear what type of substance was in that envelope.

No injuries were reported.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Bomb Squad will test the envelope to determine what it contains.

The incident will remain under investigation by the Federal Protective Services and IMPD.
