PORTER COUNTY, Ind. -- Conservation officers are still trying to determine who killed more than 90 Snow Geese and then dumped them in Porter County.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says someone shot and dumped more than seven dozen geese near Hebron sometime last week.
Conservation officers say hunting the geese isn’t illegal but dumping their bodies like that is a violation.
Investigators are working with people who live in the area who claim they saw hunters kill the geese and then leave their bodies in the water.
If found, the hunters could face misdemeanor charges for littering.
