Victim identified in homicide on Indianapolis' east side

INDIANAPOLIS -- The identity of a man who was shot and killed near an apartment complex on Indianapolis' northeast side Wednesday afternoon has been released.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 4100 block of Newburgh Drive around 5:30 p.m. 

When they arrived they found Albert Ford, 50, suffering from a gunshot wound. Ford was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made at this time. 

Wednesday's death marked the 151st homicide in Indianapolis' deadliest year yet.
