Pedestrian hit, killed by dump truck on Indianapolis' southwest side

INDIANAPOLIS -- A person is dead after being hit by a dump truck on Indianapolis' southwest side Monday evening.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the intersection of S. Harding Street and Morris Street just after 7 p.m. 

Police say a person was hit by a dump truck that was going south on Harding Street. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released. 

Police say the truck had the green light on the street.
