Pedestrian struck, killed while crossing road on Indianapolis' northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing a road on Indianapolis' northeast side Thursday morning. 

The accident happened near the intersection of 75th Street and Binford Boulevard. 

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department dispatchers say a man was walking across Binford Boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released. 

Witnesses told police that the driver had a green light when the accident happened. 

Police say the driver stayed on the scene and will submit to a blood draw, which is standard procedure in accidents involving a fatality. No charges have been filed at this time.
