INDIANAPOLIS -- A death investigation is underway in Indianapolis after a man crashed into a convenience store and died.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the Village Pantry on State Avenue for a report of a vehicle into the building.

When officers arrived they found the person who was driving the vehicle was suffering from an injury that appeared to not be related to the crash.

The driver of that vehicle was taken to the hospital where they later died.

Police have not released the type of injury that the driver had or their identity. It is unclear how much damage the crash caused to the Village Pantry.

The crash and the death both remain under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

If you have any information about the crash or the death investigation contact IMPD or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477.
